Nick Hanauer is a multi-millionaire  has co- written a book,  ”The Gardens of Democracy”. Nick says we should view our economic system like a  garden, not mechanistically, as it is currently viewed by most. The garden needs tending to rid it of “weeds”, in his example, the weed being no other than Taraxacum officinale. Sorry, Dandelion.  Poor Dandelion always taking a beating.

Nick says, ” If you use the wrong metaphors facts just bounce off your brain”. I agree. The garden metaphor is correct. However, most organic systems are self regulating and require just a little TLC. Unlike our mechanistic artificial construct we call an economy which needs real intervention,regulation.

Nick, most of what your saying makes perfect sense to me. But please not the lowly Dandelion…. It’s the giant pesticide companies that need to be weeded out of our Garden of Eden.
